Get the word out: Promoting your home business

April 20th, 2008 · No Comments

It’s an exciting adventure that you’re about to begin by being self-employed. It’s time to let everyone know about your soon-to-be successful company by promoting your home business. While hiring a marketing or public relations firm is an easy option, since you are just starting out, it may be a tool you cannot yet afford. If this is the case, it is up to you to develop different media means to promoting your home business.

The most obvious is starting a Web site. There are many freelances out there who would gladly do this for you for a fee, but this is not really necessary if you have basic computer skills. Several sites are dedicated to instructing you on a step-by-step procedure on how to create a Web site for promoting your home business. Many provide usage for a price, but there are some out there in which you can use for no cost at all. This would be a practical option. A free site might not offer all the flourishes of a paid-for one, but as your first priority would be simply promoting your home business, other features, graphics and designs can be added once the money starts rolling in and you have extra cash to spend on creating a stand out site.

Writing a weekly or monthly newsletter is also a great marketing tool in promoting your home business. Fill the copy with your personal background, services provided and costs involved. Update your newsletter with savings advertisements, new services offered and comments from pleased customers when promoting your home business through a newsletter.

While posting a link or subscriber option to your web site for the newsletter is a given, additional initiative must be taken as part of promoting your home business. Obtain e-mail addresses of several companies or individuals who might be interested in using your services. Shoot for the addresses of actual people rather than sending a letter promoting your home business to a general business site. You are then taking the risk of becoming a deleted spam file.

If your home business is a local one, such as a day care or accounting service, advertise in your local newspapers and trade magazines. Coupons always catch a consumers eye, so including them in your ad would be a key tool in promoting your home business. Offering a 10 percent discount is always a plus.

Also, holding contests with prizes would catch they eye of a newspaper or magazine browser. Consider making the prize a week of free service or a sales item.

Lastly, get some business cards together as part of promoting your home business. You can design and print them using a home computer or pay a professional printer who may have additional design ideas that would capture consumer’s attention. Distribute your business cards to individuals and companies, and post them in every store that offers a free advertising billboard.

Is The Rich Jerk by Kelly Felix a Scam?

March 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

Quite probably, The Rich Jerk website, compiled by Kelly Felix, is one of the more offensive marketing sites on the internet. However, for those interested in setting up a , especially one with little cost and effort, then this has a good deal of appeal, and the number of imitators on the net is staggering.

Kelly Felix's attitude is that he is rich, disgustingly so, and he doesn't care about what people think. Having said that, his long web page provides more than enough content to suggest he does care, very much so, and wants you to pay $10 for his e-book. It is just a shame that his promotional video, embedded from You Tube into his site, is no longer being hosted by You Tube.

Included with his e-book is a complete website, simple instructions for basic marketing, and that's about it. Sounds too good to be true, and like most marketing packages, it is unlikely to achieve the kind of success story included in his letter. Having bought a site three years earlier, through which he sold nothing, he sold it on EBay for $379,000. Certainly intriguing, and verifiable, but I would doubt very much that forking out $10 and spending 15 minutes of your time will result in that kind of level or return.

Having said that, his e-book is concise, practical and written in a down to earth, no nonsense manner that is likely to appeal. Worth the cost if only because it does contain useful information for those who have already carried out some research and have a reasonable understanding of internet marketing strategies, and what they entail.

If you decide to purchase The Rich Jerk through my site, make sure you send me an email so I can send you a Free Vacation Voucher for a 3 Day, 2 Night Bahamas Cruise for 2 (valued up to $525).

Automated Cash Formula by Dave Gale?

March 18th, 2008 · No Comments

Dave Gale seems to be promising an awful lot with his Automated Cash Formula. His web page, however, leaves a great deal to the imagination, which is another way of saying that he admits very little.

In essence, what he seems to be claiming is that without any investment of your money, and with only a very short amount of time invested initially, you can set up a system which will automatically generate you money, almost without you ever having to go near the product again.

He claims that this will generate income within a couple of weeks, although he adds that simply setting up one project and leaving it will 'only' earn you modest sums of money - hundreds instead of thousands. Oh dear, wouldn't that be terrible - earning only a few hundred dollars for a few minutes of work?

Although he doesn't admit the nature of his scheme, it basically centers on an old idea of 'sub affiliate ship' - which is where you find a market that is relatively untapped, recruit affiliates, and let them do the hard work whilst you scrape off your commission bonus.

The price advertised at present is $37, which is lower than many other internet business schemes, and it does come with the standard 56 days guarantee. However, the fact he reveals so little about the scheme in his web page, and that it focuses on one basic principle which has been around for a long time, I wouldn't be recommending this package as being high on your list of possible ways to pay for that yacht.

If you decide to purchase the Automated Cash Formula through my site, make sure you send me an email so I can send you a Free Vacation Voucher for a 3 Day, 2 Night Bahamas Cruise for 2 (valued up to $525).

Is The Money Animal by Andrew 'X' a Scam?

March 15th, 2008 · No Comments

The Money Animal System, devised and promoted by Andrew 'X', is honest about the way in which it proposes to help you earn money. It is a turn-key system, for sale for the accustomed asking price of $50, and with the expected cast iron guarantee.

However, it does begin with warnings that if you are already earning $1000 a day, then please leave the site and don't buy the product as there is little he can do to help you further. How reassuring. The product for sale includes a suite of strategies and techniques which, he claims are easy to follow if you are genuinely interested in making money. I would read this as being easy to follow if you are already half way to knowing what you are doing when it comes to

The program is described as being self perpetuating and fully automated, which sounds wonderful - although the financial claims, the 'photos' of bank statements and the selection of recommendations are likely to be beyond the reach of all but the very select few who might achieve some moderate success.

At the end of the day, a turn-key solution that is fully automated and costs just $50 is unlikely to allow you to buy a Porsche every couple of months, or a spare mansion - as Andrew is suggesting. His claims are unrealistic, and as such, are more likely to put off prospective customers, as it did in my case.

However, it is worth noting that over two hours' of video tutorials are included, which may well prove more useful to those who try the system than yet another thick e-book packed with superlatives.

If you decide to purchase The Money Animal through my site, make sure you send me an email so I can send you a Free Vacation Voucher for a 3 Day, 2 Night Bahamas Cruise for 2 (valued up to $525).

The Atomic Blogging System by Alvin Phang

March 12th, 2008 · No Comments

The Atomic Blogging package offered by Alvin Phang, an apparently very successful blogger, promotes itself as an all in one solution to planning, designing, building and maintaining a blog. The Atomic Blogg will be easy to keep up to date, yet attract a significant number of visitors and links back from other sites. Alvin sees a blog not as a personal online journal, but as a home based Business opportunity which can be easy to run, and extremely successful if managed the right way.

Through Atomic Blogging it is the secrets of research and planning which Alvin suggests will be included first, with a significant amount of emphasis on search engine optimization, helping to achieve a high ranking in the search engines. By achieving a high search engine rank, significant numbers of links and high visitor numbers, the hallowed pot of gold that is Google can be mined for tremendous profit.

In his long description of the Atomic Blogging method, Alvin provides the assurance of several dozen personal recommendations of those who have allegedly achieved success with this method. Although what is interesting is that most of these recommendations include the blog address, meaning that a little research can be carried out by the potential customer.

As with any home based internet business opportunity, the buyer must beware, although in this case we are given a full name and a photograph. The package price is $47, and the usual free bonuses are included, such as e-books and software which, so it is claimed, amount to $1,500. One of the most interesting bonuses is Alvin's own keyword research tool, allowing you to carry out these searches. There are similar products on the market for very nearly the same price as this whole package, which does make this more tempting than some.

If you decide to purchase Atomic Blogging through my site, make sure you send me an email so I can send you a Free Vacation Voucher for a 3 Day, 2 Night Bahamas Cruise for 2 (valued up to $525).
